Nak Carik Baju Kurung

Every year in August, my pocket will be deeply slashed, renew road tax, renew insurance. This year Syawal falls in August and I am soooo thankful it falls on the 30th (lepas gaji geng).

Mana nak pakai duit for check up, ketepikan duit zakat, mana nak beli bahan bahan kuih. Its a must to bake during Hari Raya, very therapeutic for me. And another item that I need to add into my long list is baju kurung.

I can no longer fit into any of my baju kurung. The baju ok, the kain all cannot kancing already. I dun like to use getah for the kain so I always requested for kanching so that the kain sit nicely on the hip. Amik kau, satu kain pun dah tak bleh muat!!!!!

Meleleh leleh air mata try balik all my baju raya, I have made 5 pairs of baju raya this year. Maklum sajer, first time beraya dengan abang and family...  baru ingat nak glam. Eh did I type abang there.. menyampah pulak bunyinya.

Tube dress and the sarung langsung dah tak bleh masuk at the hip, baju off shoulder lace mcm Seniwati Sarimah, dah mcm nak tertetas kat bust area.Songket thai silk tu, blakang can zip, but the tummy area, once kalau I duduk berderai kain dia agaknya. Sungguh touching.

Mr S pujuk 'Dah lah takkan baju dah ketat pun nak nangis, sampai gitu skali. Kan pregnant. Nanti kita jalan geylang, kita beli lah baju'

'kita cari baju raya kat first lady eh'

and the datin menyampuk 'Kalau dah tak muat pakai baju ibu pun boleh'

Lagi deras air mata meleleh.... I dont blame the hormones. Kalau tak pregnant, baju dah tak muat pun can make me nangis.

at 24 weeks, and the reason for all the ketat baju raya.

Cause my momma taught me better than that.

Datin had a long talk with the girls and my self. Since a new member of the opposite sex is gonna join the family real soon, she had laid a few new ground rules and regulations. For the Sis no more walking around in shorts and tank tops. For myself datin bought lots of baju butterfly. Tak sek langsung.

She had preached and remind me over and over again on my new responsibilities. Jaga Makan minum suami, kain baju, bla bla bla... Jaga penanpilan. Jgn kenpro or sembrono. Sikat rambut tu, jgn nak poncot ajer, Mcm org anak sepuloh. Jaga badan. Aaahhhh part ni gua tak Lei guarantee lah datin. I was fat thru out my life. I am only determined when a major event is coming up. Barulah semangat kebabian Dia datang. Barulah bermati matian lari, Sana sini. Pukul sebelas pun sanggup lari. But I'll try my best ah. But no janji.

Jangan tinggal sembayang. Insyallah. kalau kat umah Mak mentua, ringan ringankan tangan. Jangan nak feeling anak lord. Nanti mak mentua kau cakap, ibu tak ajar. Eh eh, takkan lah nk mengangkang ajer. Selama ni I kan cinderella kat umah ni, takkan lah nak lepas tangan kat rumah Mak mentua. Extra rajin lagi ader lah. Nak hambat hati suami eh salah hati Mak mentua.

Kasi Mak mentua duit tiap tiap bulan, kalau sesak kasi sikit pun jadi. Besar hati org Tua tau, Dia doakan kesejahteraan Korang. the tuns and I had work out our monthly budget, we will put aside a sum from our monthly budget to the inlaws.

Now I'm left with only a few days left. Skarang Kita chillax. tgk telatah Makcik Makcik yg excited. Maklumlah dah lama tak buat kerja kawin so jorang excited semacam.

Bugs!

In exactly one week, the existence of this blog will be serve. The jitter bugs are at their most active now.

Blood is thicker than water

We had our bridal shower last night. The cousins were very excited. Janji kul 7pm, 6.40 dah lepak kat Hyatt.

Ini lah semangat lapar namannya. It was an enjoyable night with lots of laughter and teasing and poking and crazy pictures, and yes we managed to incorparate the misai stick.

Passing of the batten to the next bride to be... member touching, melelir air mata!!!

and yes we will rock and roll in June 2011!!!!

My skater man

In exactly one month and at around this time my identity will be dictated.

I have warned the tuns not to meet for the last 1 month. So bila dia nampak I time I tgh duduk time nak nikah tu, hati dia akan berbunga kasih, berbaur sayang... wah liow, mcm nak muntah I bila baca balik.

I can dare say, the last 1 mth lah kita banyak nak kena meet, for photoshoot, nak confirm pictures, nak confirm with Chinta, nak kena confirm deco, nak kena confirm itu, confirm ini.

To reliese the anxiety, I swamped my self with work, I attended back to back AGM, and endless site inspection. On the other hand the tuns have been releasing his steam by reminiscing his youth. He's been out skateboarding with Mr Video Man on his off days.

Love, please do take care of those ol knees, remember you are not 17 anymore. I want you to walk with me down the isle without any limping. Jgn nak complain, lutut sakit, bontot blue black, punggung lebam, badan lemah, tangan lenguh.... No way eh.

This is not a gig.. this is Helmy's wedding..

Went over to tuns member's wedding. We went to kursus home and ladder together.

The deco was gorgeous. It was very duh of me not to bring along the camera. I was in a rush, pakai eye liner senget benget, tu sebab jgn rush rush, nanti semua tak betol, semua terlupa, semua tak kena.

The deco was by Senik Wedding. They did the deco and catering, the tentage, Basically all in one lah. Interested can call kak Era, 98718464...

I tease the groom, that his tanjak is bigger than his head. And he replied me with his middle finger.

Reason for that extrra high tanjank is because Ryn is a tall lady, and the heels she was wearing on that day added another 3 inch. 

So korang korang, kalau boy boy korang lack of height, tak yah lah pakai tinggi tinggi. Datin dah warning jgn pakai kasut tinggi sangat nanti nampak mcm giant and the tuns nampak mcm dwarf... hahaha... tak lah... after the extra 4 inch, he stilll over tower me by 2 inch, tapi kalau I pakai sanggul cucuk cucuk, then dia kalah.

And as usual, kalau si Tuns punya member kawin kalau members jorang tak play feeling feeling mcm ader kat gig tak sah.

Dan mcm biasa si 'feeling feeling awie' ni will thicken his skin, sing and make a fool of himself  despite me pulling him and asking  him to get his ass back on his seat. But at the end of the song, I plucked a flower from the table centre piece and walks towards him, mcm 'feeling feeling groupie' and pass him the flower while the other guest cheered.

Reality Checks

I received my invitation card a week ago. It was so surreal to see my own name embossed on the card.

I was not aware of the hassle that comes with the chosen card. All the items are separately packed, the piece of paper, with the detail of the wedding, the slot (to fit the paper into), ribbon (to slot it into the slots) then the envelope. Wah liow.

The tuns card had finally arrived, after two time patah balik johor, bukan salah kita, salah jorang, the first one, Assalamualaikum salah spell, the second one, they wrote 'Turut mengundang seusia keluarga'.

Pengantin to be please eh, once u received the stack of card, please set aside cards for YOURSELF first. By then you will have done your guest list, so you can roughly gauge the numbers of invitation cards you will need. Dun be like me, semua amik amik amik last last I'm left with setotet card.  My aunties sampai jemput satu Haig Road (Haig road use to be my playground), amoi kedai mas bawah blk 10 pun dia jemput, apek kedai sin sih pun dia jemput, kalau dia cakap mama mee goreng kat pasar Haig Road dia jemput., I tak tau nak cakap apa. Sigh. Tak kuasa nak mengamuk, mcm dah penat agaknya. Now I just need to streamline the guest.

Last week the makciks dah start rewang, tolong buatkan envelope, tolong potongkan ribbons. tsk tsk, excited habis. I was very hesitant at first, ader ribbons mcm senget senget. My piece of advice, kalau nampak makcik buat ribbons senget ker, wrap kotak berkat terpenyek sikit kat tepi ker, ikat ribbon tak centre ker, tegur SEKALI aje, selanjutnya biarkan. Bila jorang dah balik, unpenyekkan balik the kotak or straighten the ribbons. Tak susah. Bukan apa, makcik makcik ni pantang di tegur, sensitive semacam. Nanti mood jorang dah baik baik nak tolong nanti merajuk pulak. So far, upo to date, my side belum lagi ader yg merajuk.

I pun sudah di warning oleh Datin, oh bukan I sorang, both my sisters dah kena sound jugak.

'Kalau ader org tegur kenapa buat mcm gini, kenapa buat mcm gitu, kenapa ni mcm  ni, kenapa tu mcm tu, biarkan ajer, JANGAN menjawab!!!'

This was based on past experiences when a member of the family cant take the comments made by a relative. Aiyo sikit punya matter, riuh satu kampung. Tak paham aku. Lumrah lah eh, tabiat orang. Kalau tak comment tak syiok. Mesti nak comment.

I'm at that point of, gasak lah, I just want the event to run smoothly, get it over and done with, but in the mean time I'm just enjoying the moment of my single hood.

p.s: Sejak nk dekat naik pelamin ni asyik ngantok ajer. Setan mengoda jugak agaknya.

With this ring, I'm his

I had always love big bulky accessories, so bila I choose a ring yang mcm batu besar ader duduk, the kind u can get it from forever 21, the tuns gave me a sekel at the ribs.

Soo Kee called the other day and said that the ring was ready for collection. We were delirious. The ring turns out better than I had expected.

We were advised by frens to survey for the perfect rings way back in our early engagement days, they even encouraged us to go in to shops and request for the product codes for any rings that made us go 'aaawwwww'

During the GSS season, we set a budget and went for our ring hunting. At first we were abit paisei to enter any jewellery shops, mcm dah besar besar gitu rasa masuk kedai emas.

Mandang, 'U masuk dulu lah' 'Ulah masuk dulu' or 'Which one? Tanya lah brapa?' 'U lah tanya, U kan boss' 'U lah tanya, kan ring U' Wah liow wei.

It was easy breezy time nak beli engagement ring,  I had set my mind on a particular design. I want it simple, no solitaire, no kerawang kerawang, no twist and turn, just a band with diomond paves, I had the lee hwa card and we use the 100 bucks voucher that was issued during my birthday month. I love the ring and the tuns love the price even more. Tetapi seribu kali sayang, belum sempat ring to menjejah 2 tahun, ia sudah menghigap di jari jemari siapa entah. Dun think at pajak gadai, white gold memang lah tak ada harga.

Ok continue with our ring hunting, ngan slipper and tshirt we enter one jewellery shop after another, malu taruk tepi dulu geng. The tuns was totally ON, member tak pernah beli ring, bukan main excited lagi, dapat minum air teh  free lagi, asal masuk jer air teh habis, asal masuk jer air teh habis. Sungguh tak malu.

On diamond rings we were advised on the GIA and the 4 cs, carat, clarity, cut and colour. I was in my own world when then the sales girl explained on the 4cs, Once she finished explaining, the tuns with his semangat face looked at me and asked, 'Paham yang?' I just nod my head furiously. Truthfully, satu benda haram pun I tak dengar apa si sales girl tu cakap, I was on my day dream mode, trying all the different rings that was laid in front of me.

I had my eyes on Bzero eternity silver wedding band with the pink stone, but the tuns was not keen, and said, 'Mcm kental jer pink stone, org kawin kena pakai diomond' Macam betol jer si dek ni berbual, mana punya diomond lah dia nak belikan I. And since Mar is also getting that ring, I let it go.....

And so he requested to choose the wedding ring. I let him choose the design and the setting. I was happy with his choice.

For his, I have always set my eyes on Bzero series since forever. And I was glad that the tuns love it.

So wedding rings dah settle, duit dalam bank pun dah berkurangan, mengeletis nak kawin pun dah datang, after collecting our rings we parade around orchard road with our new bling bling.

Kirakan kita ok lah yang....

Something for me to ponder ........

Today mark 100 days till the big day

Ok I'm left with 100 days.

Badan still berlapis lapis, muka makin bulat mcm bowling ball, rambut still setotet let, bilik still mcm nak terbalik, barang2 for dulang still belum plan2 lagi, date photoshoot masih belum confirm lagi, kat mana nak buat pun belum tau, the tuns belum book venue, belum book kompang, belum book bus, belom confirm colour, belum confirm menu, family war still going on.

Relek relek.

Love Nest

There were such a big huha about the launching of the 3 BTO new flats at Sengkang and Punggol. Seems like everyone is trying their luck in applying for a flat.

Since nanti lepas kawin kita akan menjadi orang pelarian between Hougang and Simei and the tuns was so keen to have a crib on its own, to have his own privacy at last, member dari kecik sampai skarang share bilik ngan brother dia, He applied the one at Punggol, water way.

It was really nice, the surrounding, and i like the floor plan, somewhat like my current home. 

Even Dinah, applied for a unit there. We were indeed excited that we might be neighbours, her husboond is not that keen though, itu belakang kira... mcm lah I nak mengadap rumah dia tiap tiap hari.Cehh....

The tuns callled and with a very tak semangat voice said that almost all his fren applied at Punggol... mcm tak dapat jer... I went online and saw this....

Dah lah, kalau dapat memang lah, tak tau nak cakap apa, but I just hope the tuns dun have high expectation, with the application increasing every day... nampak sangat slim the chance. 

Kita tinggal hougang pun cantik but if its too far from the airport, nanti I carik brick layer suruh buat rumah sebelah airport jadi semua org happy.

I had a zillion things in my head... alot of things to update... alot of things have been strike off from the list.

but first thing first...
