Oh, I was so thankful that it was bright and sunny on the 02 January 2011. Sujud syukur my dad and datin. Sampai niat puasa lagi babe for the next 3 days, sebab majlis turn out well. Alhamdullialh. Bukan mcm anak dia ni.

The datin was so worried about the weather, the food, the decor, the turn out, takut the tentage collapse, takut current tak ader, takut nasi tak cukup.... sigh, now you know from who I in herit the overactive imaginery mind. Pening I. I was so stress whenever I talk to datin. Seriously, baik baik, I tak pikir, once she opened her mouth terus, pang... betol jugak kata mak aku ni.

Any way, alhamdullialh once again, it turns out well. And the Food. Oh the food deserve to have its own post. I can never thank Farah Diana enough.

Tentage in Singapore cost a bomb. My budget killer. I've view a lot of Malaysians blog and mostly all erected gorgeous looking tentage not the normal cheopo chepo A tentage but the gorgeous gazebo dome like ones. Maybe kat sana lagi murah agaknya.

Obviously u can ask ur decor or caterer to quote, as they might have better deal, tapi Jentayu tak buat tent and Farah Diana's contractor quoted not so competitive price. So I pull up my sleeves and contacted dozens of tentage contractors. A few of my approved vendor list of contractors.

I actually have a total of 23 tentage company listed in my wedding note book (lupa nak cakap, wedding note book is very essential. Takper nanti lain hari kita discuss pasal wedding note book)

If you intend to put up tent, please ask for more than 2 quotes. The price different from one company  to another were very very vast appart. A company quote me $8K. Biar betol. I actually had the guy on the fone to repeat himself 3 time. Lagi satu $750, tapi just the steel structure without the white canvas. Dia buat kelakar ker apa? So go get ur quotes. And please do provide correct information:-

• nak dome shape ker (mahal)
• nak gazebo (lagi mahal)
• nak A shape ker (this is me, yg paling murah)
• Make sure that it includes white lining (to cover up the metal steel structure)
• Transparent cover at the side (jadi hujan can cover)
• the no. of lights (florescent or down light)
• the no. of fans (the normal attached fan or the 3 blade fans)
• correct dimension of the place/area
• no. of guest tables
• Additional generator (hint: suruh org tent tap illegally dari block depan ker apa, pandai pandai sembunyi, kalau takot den bo pian kena sewa generator)

To be safe, ask the person to come down on site for a site visit. Then only a more accurate quotes can be given. And please kalau sewa the standing fans from them, jgn bring it up to use at home time nikah. Mcm kawan baik I, bawak naik fan gedabak tu kat rumah, kirakan nak keep cool lah time nikah. Sekali trip. Industrial fan mana lah boleh pakai kat umah, very high voltage you noe. Nanti kena current. So be careful eh.

6 months

Time is no longer my best friend.

With less than 6 months to go, I had more things in my head. Memang betol kata orang lagi dekat hari pernikahan lagi banyak setan gondol datang menggoda.... sana problem sini problem sana buat hal sini meromel, sana mengamuk, sini merajuk....

I went for the second food tasting with the caterer last weekend, confirmation of the menu will only be done in October. Food was good. Presentation ajer kena adjust adjust sikit.

Yesterday was my appointment with the Jentayu. I brought along all the pictures, the books, the magazines cuttings, the laptop with hundreds of my saved pictures. We have come out with a new colour scheme, very cotton candy. At first I wanted something dark, rich, like maroon, dark purple, brown, gold but since the family will be wearing dark colours takut jorang terblend in dah jadi part of the decor pulak.

Oh yeah another word of advice, if ur intending to do a white wedding dun ask ur family members to be also in white. Ask them to wear something bright so they will stand out. And the pictures will look better too.

I have booked the Multi Purpose Hall, for the event, and the void deck, for masak2, for 2 days. Buat bawah block jer nak bayar dah berat, ader feeling nak buat kat CC lagi... sudah lah, buat apa yang mampu ajer lah eh.

With the confiscation of my cards due to the recent studies on credit card users and the berita minggu article on a teacher who earns 15k per month but could not even afford a packet of rice, the mid year bonus was really a blessing. I managed to clear lots of things without touching the 'KAWIN SAVING'. Things like ribbons lah, guest books, poloroids films,  printing of tagging, book void deck, barang2 dulang sikit (thanks to duit GST, 200 jer tapi jadi lah, lepas beli kasut, and GSS). I try very hard not to shop for my stuffs aside for wedding stuffs. Now I stay away as much as possible from any malls.

Ok, now everything seems to fall into place... another meet up with jentayu next week for site show round.

C, everything will be ok.. like payung say, dun expect too much. Betul betul betul. I will only be there at most 2 hours during the event, and another thing, people will still talk, buat lawa cakap, buat buruk pun cakap... gasak korang lah eh.

F: Hello, I wold like to book the hall for my wedding event on the 2 Jan
C: Huh, 2nd Jan? Now 19 Jan already.
F: Sorry, I meant for 2 Jan 2011, is the slot still avaiable?
C: Got Got, but can book only 6 mths in advance.
F: Great!!! Can I request to get the key a day earlier so that we can decorate the hall for the event.
C: Sorry Ms, we close on 1 Jan 2011.
F: Ohhhh close ah? den maybe on the 31 Dec
C: We have countdown on the 31 Dec, U take the key on the 2nd lah.
F: Count down? Got pple countdown at CC meh? Den Like dat I have to pass lah, I cant decorate on the 2nd Jan, my event starts at 11am
C: Eh can lah, we open on the 2nd Jan at 9am. You got 2 hours to decorate mah? Just nice,
F: Decorate for wedding, not for birthday party.

If Jentayu knew that they have only 2 hours to do the full decor, they will gladly refund my deposit.

Sorry lah ddady dearest, back to the initial plan.

Nostalgia jah!!!

Whenever, cik mok came over, I got sweaty. He loves asking on how my wedding preparation is coming along. As much as I love to discuss with a close family member, dis uncle of mine have a very strong mind of its own which may influence my daddy dearest, all due to good intention, of course.

So yesterday topic was venue. He was so so  keen on taking up Kampung Ubi CC, I swear I could see my daddy's eye sparkle with delight, mcm baru dapat ice cream Ben and Jerry. But having a wedding held in CC had never come across my mind.

"Kesin jah, bapak kau. Dia nak kat situ"
"ah ah... kalau buat kat CC semua org tau, senang nak carik, itu pun tempat aku dulu dulu, nostalgia lama, teringat aku slalu main main kat sana"
"ok set jah, besok kau gi check it out"
" yeay" followed by aidil's and ahmad's yeay


Mar's words kept ringing in my head "Wedding is a family affair"

I knew daddy dearest memang nak I hold the majlis der but to me CC is toooooo huge a place to make the affair a very meriah one. Adding on the pelamin will have to be set up on stage!!!! On stage, me, tangkap jambu atas stage??!!! its so far from the rest of the guest, nak bye bye member pun entah si member tu nampak ker tak, takkan lah nak pekik kan. Memang lah tak senonoh nah sangat.


Other factors will be the cost, the additional cost for the deco company, additional cost for the catering company. I would rather have my majlis bawah block den in CC.

Tapi ingat "Wedding is a family affair" sigh.....its ok, its daddy's request, nanti lunch time boleh check out lah, kalau ader lagi slot.
