Cut hair

Overdue pictures of Baby N cukur rambut and our house warming at LuLu.
I love the marhaban group. Mendayu dayu nyayiannya. You can email me if you want their contacts. I took them for my wedding also, before nikah.
The kelapa and the bunga with the telor(mengalahkan mcm org kawin) was done by my aunt.
Baby N's daddy was so overwhelm with the whole procedure.
I was asked to carry Ny and tawaf within the circle for the makciks to cut Ny's hair and Ny's daddy was asked to carry the kelapa, member asyik tanya, 'Betol ker I buat ni?'
We were then berarak to the multi purpose hall for the 'berayun' event. Nyla was placed in the crib and Adi and I was asked to swing the crib, the daddy monkey keep shaking his head.
and he whisper.... 'Ni baru cukur rambut, kalau si nyla ni kawin macam mana agaknya...' and he shake his head sambil hayun crib anaknya.......

The food was from Farah Diana Catering, we were satisfied with their service during our wedding.

The berkat - We use our left over berkat from the wedding cuma tukar tag ajer... hehehe... for the marhaban makciks we gave Daiso umbrella, $2 jer.
We have to purchase additional berkat coz Nyla's daddy monkey invited all his Facebook friends.
I was shocked at first, sebab member cakap
'Kita buat kecik kecik ajer lah yang, alah invite semua bukannya semua datang'
Amik kau.
The sistas rush to giant to purchase bottle POKKA tea, nasib ada additional tags so we just tie the tag around the bottkle neck.

Shoutbox and comments 2

guest: hi darling. how many cards did you give out? im really scared that my majlis tak cukop makanan. lol.

I ordered 550 cards. The Cards were purchased at Angsana at RM $1.20 as mentioned in this post. The DIY cards was a cheap alternatives to the original ones. I called Angsana and asked if I can print another extra 200 pieces but they mentioned minimum card to print is 500 pieces. Buat apa nak banyak banyak, so I end up DIYing the cards.

I dig out my cupboards for colour papers, print 250 pieces at work, cut the paper into half, and wrap the paper with tracing paper which I purchase from Popular ($3.40 for 50 pieces). Wrap the whole thingy with ribbons and pasted the left over stickers from the berkat. So total I keluarkan 800 cards and inform the caterer on the increase on the pax.

Lydia: Hello Fei,another passer by here. Congrats on ur marriage! Btw,could you share..where and how much u bought corset. So stress as there are so many kinds of it. Thank you!

Lydia, I tak beli corset, I bought a girdle cum corset, called spanx. I got mine online. Its a breeze wearing this, its tight but I can still breathe. Its like girdle but I manage to pull it all the way to cover my boobs. It totally flatten the tummy. There is something with the material, its quite thin but It works for me. Oprah, Jessica Alba, Kim Kardashian and many other celeb swear by spanx.
If ur not a fan of online shopping you can grab something similar to this from Marks and Spencer. Ketok duit sikit ah, but we girls do need some sort of supports. So long run its better we invest on a good quality girdle.

Dun buy the chepo chepo girdle kat kedai bawah block or pasar, they do work but when your wearing it for more than 6 hours with songket berat nak mams, confirm you will berpeluh pelih. The thick girdle material will not let ur skin breathe and end up you will have rashes all over ur tummy.

guest: hey fei. i love your blog. i need help, how to lose weight for my big day? im slightly gempal & im wondering if you have any tips. ive tried exercising & jaga makan but tak work. my fam badan besar2.

Guest, I so feel you. I am a very big bone girl myself. I have never been thin, I have always been big. To make thing worst, I do have  frens who gave ugly remarks for every inch or kilos that I put on. Giving unneccessary stress. So if you do have frens like that, ignore their remark and just focus on losing weight.

3 months prior to my wedding, I took up classes at the sengkang sport centre. I took the abs, bun and thigh and body sculp classes. Once a week for 3 months for $65 (12 lessons). Click the link below for sport centre near your home. SSC Sport Centre. Feeling di hati nak enrol kat amore tapi pikir kan registration fee that I need to pay monthly sungguh menyedihkan. So I sign up the cheaper way. And my instructor, Raiqal, this very mat melayu that have a body like Johnny Bravo, was so fun, mula mula malu nak mampos girl, bila dia suruh buat sit up, tapi lama lama, jadi members.

I felt working out as a group is so much better and more progressive than running or jogging alone. You have more disipline. Kalau lari sorang kan, larinya 10 mins, jalan 50mins. I always feel motivated in class, kalau nyonya kat sebelah tu boleh buat so can I, kalau makcik melayu yg slalu kat belakang class tu boleh buat, so can I. You really feel motivated and its  much more fun.
Another tips is not to supper or makan malam. Datin close the kitchen at 8pm daily when the date got nearer

Skarang after more than 3 months of marriage, I have piled up all the kilos back. And yes they have made their remarks, 'Mcm dah gems jer?' 'Kau pulak dah lebar'. Throw all the negativity aside. I have sweat my ass off before, now let me have my sugar back. Bulan 4 kita start abs, bun and thigh class balik eh.

Sweet laces

A few have asked on the design I did for my take away cup boxes. The pink lace is actually blue but wit the magic of photoshop, u can make it to any colour u desire.

I grab the design from the brilliant Martha Stewart. The design came actually from here. A few of some other ideas you guys can come up with....

Sharing is caring!!!
Have a great weekend everyone.
.xoxo.

I decide to use the pink lace. Initial plan was to use the purple 'fred perry' design but sis was saying it doesnt go well with the decor. So we decide to use the sweet lace. Datin suaka sangat. But I find it too girrrrlllyy.

I get the stickers from Risin Internation Pte Ltd at a very very good deal. For the take away boxes. I actually need only 300, but they dun take in small quantity. I asked for 500 intend to paste the remaining 200 stickers at the nasi bungkus paper bag. But when I went over to the office to collect the stickers imagine my surprise that they gave me 1000 pieces for the same price I paid for 500 pieces.
1000 pieces for $50. 1 piece $0.05.
Online they will state 500 pieces for $50 but if the size of your sticker is small they will fold it into 2. They have online template for you to choose from, ada circle, oval, rectangle, square, heart. I opt for square, hassle free, habis citer. Ni lagi 500 stickers ni mana I nak tampal? Kalau nak tampal kat envelope invitation card mcm sayang, nak tampal kat tangan ker, dahi ker, muka my anak anak sedara lagi sayang... jadi org tau budak budak yang main kat palyground tu datangnya dari orang kawin kat block situ. Macam trademark ah. Sigh dah ting tong agaknya si dekni. Tgk lah nanti mana I tampal stickers2 ni. Quality wise was good, they use glossy paper and the printing was ok. No complaint.

The thank you tag, name card size, will be tied to the berkat. Best deal is from AcidPrint.
1000 pieces of the tag is $60. 1 piece is $0.06.
Then pandai pandai you punch the paper sendiri to tie to the berkat. Quality wise so so. Not glossy. Just like a normal name card quality. They use 225gsm white card. Size 90mm x 54mm.

Card Jemputan

I've received an email on a draft sample of my invitation card. Oh please dont trust any 1st draft, jgn asal boleh OK jer. Print the draft and ask another person to assist in the vetting, dun go to the tuns. Orang lelaki jenis OK go, little little details susah mata jorang nak tangkap. Kalau big big details tak payah suruh pun mata jorang dah tangkap.

Niat di hati nak feeling feeling card mcm Martha Stewart. Niat is free but printing of card is not. So since my budget is already up to my nose, kita beli ajer at Johor. I did mine at Angsana Plaza, tingkat 4 depan Spa, Jelita Boutique. From all the sample cards, banyak Singaporean who tempah card kat situ. kalau nak buat kat larkin pun ader, a fren did his for only RM0.50

You can go bonkers with choices on invitations, ader yg simple ader yang over ader yg extravagent, ader yg made of simple paper, ader yg pakai printing paper, ader yg pakai drawing block ader yg use the hardcover. It all depends on your budget.

Personallly I thing wedding invite tak payah lah over over, card itu akan di campak di dalam tong sampah, at times tiba majlis, card dah tak tau mana selit. Only those who are close to you are likely to keep your wedding invitations because there is sentimental value to the card. Seperti payung yang akan mengframe all our cards. Betol yung?

A good fren of mine memang jenis malas nak turun naik johor did her card at golden landmark at S$0.70 She claimed that the price was reasonable for her choice of card. Another did hers at Joo Chiat, Cardlink or something at only $0.50. Her card was not bad, printing was good and they even use hot stamping for the cover. I've seen a few website on multiply that caters for wedding invite at quite an attractive price but the card tak shout, 'Here fei here, I'm your card' except for 1.

I had surveyed a few places in Malaysia. I love the postcard type and I fell in love wit this from marry me
Shipping i think roughly around RM100. tu price for shipping only. Or you can drive down to KL and pick it up at KLCC

But Datin not to fond of postcard type of card. She claimed that its not sincere. Mcm jenis postcard dapat free yang berlambak lambak dalam my cupboard tu.

Kadkawinku also provide nice cards. But what i hate about them is inconsistency.
'Percuma riben merah hati kepada 100 keping pertama.(tertakluk kepada stock)'
Then what happened to the remaining 500 cards geng?

I like card too provide nice and fresh looking cards unlike the traditional kerawang kerawang card.
A fren of Mr S had 'to die for' cantik g.i.l.a, punya card, its hard cover with ribbons and diamante, i suka suka sangat. The tuns was pretty excited and asked where he did his cards. He was a little hesitant. I told the tuns many many times orang kalau tak nak bilang tak apa, jagan paksa. Lokek tak nak share, kita jangan kawan dengan jorang. The tuns look at me and shake his head, 'Now I wonder who is the kid' Ala I kidding jer. ;p

We later found out that he did his card at Jakarta. Some cards from Indon sangat cantik cantik, and their shipping prices was quite reasonable. We especially loves the doco cards. Their website is in flash so I can save as their pictures. There are actually more websites but I could not find where the hell I dah selit the paper

There are lots of Singapore companies that also provide gorgeous gorgeous cards. Unlike the normal kerawang kerawang card. This is the 'Martha Stewart' kind of sipi sipi look alike.

Personally I love the inuboss design. Very fast to reply to email and will request their potential customer to drop by their office for more options.

other yang boleh tahan:-

http://www.card-blanche.com/blanche.html
http://www.thecardroom.com.sg/
http://www.theivoryloft.com/
http://www.inuboss.com/

These cards are alittle out of my league, and they start from S$2.50

But the most reliable design that I like with sungguh I suka sekali price is from http://thecardmaison.multiply.com/
but its a postcard card. Tsk. Datin tak suka.

So in conclusion: Niat di hati - S$2.50 X 600 = S$1,500
                          Dalm realiti - RM1.20 X 600 = RM720.00 (Beli di JB)

With the currency exchange and the extra cash, baik splurge on other item. Gi honeymoon setapak dua lagi jauh sikit ker, order cake setingkat lagi tinggi ker, atau buy that gorgeous Kate Spade Yardly bag. Kan lagi bagus. Lagi Puas.

But it is still up to individual, some might feel that the invites are the first visual their jemputan will see before their majlis and they are willing to splurge alittle more. No hal, its ur majlis, ur the boss. Just make sure that your budget runs smooth jadi tak botak di belakang hari seperti saya.  ;p
