Review-Caterer (Farah Diana Catering Services)

Oh its damn GOOD FOOD!!!

I received lots of raves on the food. Seriously. This was one of the items that Datin loses her beauty sleep. Takut sangat makanan tak cukup, takut sangat tukang masak buat pe'el. But alhamdullilah it went smoothly.

Food was sufficient to cater  to the overwhelming guests, all the nasi bungkus was given as promised, kendarat was very on the ball semangat berkerja. Serious, and their uniform was pleasing to the eyes.

The were very cekap and  keep the buffet table full. Always top up any food yg they noticed dah run low. The food was kept constantly HOT, bapak pengantin very particular abt nasi panas. Presentation wise they were very clean and in order.

Their live station ayam berempah, I heard was a big hit. I tak dapat jamah langsung. But I heard my sis complaint 'asyik jorang masak jer, orang amik, asyik jorang masak jer, orang amik'. They goreng the ayam from 12pm till 5pm.

Another big hit was the putu piring station. They claim its as good as the Haig Road putu piring. Pandai Mat Mat ni masal putu piring, aku yang dah berlaki ni pun tak tau masak sangat. Sama jugak, sikit pun pengantin tak dapat jamah.

The cutleries, the pingan mangkuk my mum said all was good tak ader yang retak or pecah. The flow of cups and pingan mangkuk were constant, guest tak payah tunggu for pinggan mangkuk.

The ayam berempah and the putu piring cames together in the package. Good deal right.

Sanding

Oh, I was so thankful that it was bright and sunny on the 02 January 2011. Sujud syukur my dad and datin. Sampai niat puasa lagi babe for the next 3 days, sebab majlis turn out well. Alhamdullialh. Bukan mcm anak dia ni.

The datin was so worried about the weather, the food, the decor, the turn out, takut the tentage collapse, takut current tak ader, takut nasi tak cukup.... sigh, now you know from who I in herit the overactive imaginery mind. Pening I. I was so stress whenever I talk to datin. Seriously, baik baik, I tak pikir, once she opened her mouth terus, pang... betol jugak kata mak aku ni.

Any way, alhamdullialh once again, it turns out well. And the Food. Oh the food deserve to have its own post. I can never thank Farah Diana enough.

Birthday Party

I received emails for contacts to rent candy floss and popcorn machine.

My advice is for you to get quotation from your caterer, some caterer bleh carikkan and absorb a small amount for the rental of the popcorn and candyfloss. But if your caterer quote price yg very ridiculous, cekek duit orang, I think its wiser to go direct to the main source.

6 months

Time is no longer my best friend.

With less than 6 months to go, I had more things in my head. Memang betol kata orang lagi dekat hari pernikahan lagi banyak setan gondol datang menggoda.... sana problem sini problem sana buat hal sini meromel, sana mengamuk, sini merajuk....

I went for the second food tasting with the caterer last weekend, confirmation of the menu will only be done in October. Food was good. Presentation ajer kena adjust adjust sikit.

Yesterday was my appointment with the Jentayu. I brought along all the pictures, the books, the magazines cuttings, the laptop with hundreds of my saved pictures. We have come out with a new colour scheme, very cotton candy. At first I wanted something dark, rich, like maroon, dark purple, brown, gold but since the family will be wearing dark colours takut jorang terblend in dah jadi part of the decor pulak.

Oh yeah another word of advice, if ur intending to do a white wedding dun ask ur family members to be also in white. Ask them to wear something bright so they will stand out. And the pictures will look better too.

I have booked the Multi Purpose Hall, for the event, and the void deck, for masak2, for 2 days. Buat bawah block jer nak bayar dah berat, ader feeling nak buat kat CC lagi... sudah lah, buat apa yang mampu ajer lah eh.

With the confiscation of my cards due to the recent studies on credit card users and the berita minggu article on a teacher who earns 15k per month but could not even afford a packet of rice, the mid year bonus was really a blessing. I managed to clear lots of things without touching the 'KAWIN SAVING'. Things like ribbons lah, guest books, poloroids films,  printing of tagging, book void deck, barang2 dulang sikit (thanks to duit GST, 200 jer tapi jadi lah, lepas beli kasut, and GSS). I try very hard not to shop for my stuffs aside for wedding stuffs. Now I stay away as much as possible from any malls.

Ok, now everything seems to fall into place... another meet up with jentayu next week for site show round.

C, everything will be ok.. like payung say, dun expect too much. Betul betul betul. I will only be there at most 2 hours during the event, and another thing, people will still talk, buat lawa cakap, buat buruk pun cakap... gasak korang lah eh.

Lollipop Lollipop

I've always been a fan of cotton candy, so instead of berkat for kids, I've booked a cotton candy station for the kids. I was also tempted to get the pop corn machine tapi takut popcorn dia tak sesedap popcorn golden village... haha... correct what, skali dia supply popcorn yg tak garing, tak sweet, how? sungguh potong steam.

My sis actually asked, 'U ni nak plan wedding you ker nak plan birthday party budak budak?'

I can help it lah girl.

Mr S cousin kawin

Fetch the tuns from work, and off to his cousin's wedding.

They're did a combined wedding at this multi purpose hall at Hougang Ave 8. The hall was huge. Perfect for combined wedding. Good location, ada playground to distract the kids, very windy, ada fitness corner, saper yg dah terlebih makan nasi minyak boleh lah exercise sejab kat fitness corner, ada garden garden kat tepi, pengantin sempat buat outdoor shoot kat situ sejab.

The caterer was SMS. Food was ok, full of flavour, cuma lauk dia tak panas sangat and the kendarat tak on the ball, maybe becoz banyak sangat orang, so jorang lost focus. ;p Tapi fish fillet dia, acar buah dia and the fish ball sambal works ah.

Catering

To me, food can boost or bust the majlis.

Good food = Happy people
Happy people = Majlis Meriah
Majlis Meriah = Banyak org datang
Banyak org datang = Parents happy
Parents happy = Pengantin lagiiiiiiii happy

So to me food is very important. Now a lot of catering company out there that gives additional or bonus food and counter to attract customer, ader kasi ice cream counter lah, putu piring counter lah, chocolate fondue lah, dessert counter lah, satay live station lah dan bermacam macam lagi.

I am really interested with Maria le caterer tapi biasalah lembab sangat, date org dah kebas, and another company that my cousin engaged food was good tapi yg attracts me the most was the kendarat, all very on the balls, cepat dan cekap and all eye candy lah ok. Cute, mengeletis anak anak sedara !, budak budak 16 -17 nak extra cash beli PSP agaknya, so weekend jadilah kendarat.

Catering company will also provide the following:-
